 Pastor Matt Jacoby joined the Barrabool Hills pastoral team in 2004,
and his current responsibilities include preaching, teaching, training
and pastoral oversight of young adults. He and his lovely wife Kate
have three children: Sophia, Jeremiah and Ivy.
Matt studied at the Reformed Theological College, completing a degree
in theology. He then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Letters,
with honours in Philosophy at Deakin University in Geelong. In 1999
Matt was awarded an Australian Post Graduate Award scholarship to do
his Ph.D. at the University of Melbourne. His doctorate combined his
previous work in both theology and philosophy.
Apart from thorough biblical knowledge and training, Matt’s musical
abilities are also well renowned. Matt formed the psalmist band Sons
of Korah, who toured extensively around Australia, New Zealand and
recently the USA. They have produced numerous albums, and are a
household name among Christian circles in Australia.
Matt’s central passion is for communicating the Word of God. His desire
is to learn what it means to live life by the Spirit of God, to learn
to listen to God constantly and to be a transparent and honest witness
to the faithfulness of God. Through his role within Barrabool Hills, he
wants to inspire others to do he same.
