As I write this I am eagerly awaiting news from the medical clinic/outreach being conducted in the Meru region of Kenya. This is the first time we have taken a clinic into this area to work alongside the CRC church there, and I am anticipating that it is going to have a great impact on the community, not just practically through the provision of medical care, but also spiritually. In next week’s bulletin I’ll let you know the outcome. Behind the scenes your contributions to the K25000 have also been at work providing medical care for specific needs in the K community. Ps. Andrew and Ps. Francis are doing a wonderful job overseeing this ministry in these communities. I’ve just realised as I’m writing this that it’s only 6 months until we will be doing it all again ie. Exercising for a Cause in 2011. The Mums and Daughter’s trip to visit Jo in Sumbi is fast approaching (as at Sunday 19 sleeps to go). Annette, Jessica and their other team members along with Jo andher team are getting very excited about what is going to take place as they work together to provide community programs through the Lamp of Sumbi Library. Pray for the mums and their daughters as they get together in Echuca this weekend for their final team meeting. Ted and Karen have just comeback from visiting Jo and I’m sure that they’d love to share their experiences with you. Woon and his team continue to prepare for their trip to India in October. One way to find out more about what they are going to be doing in India, and to support them, is by attending the Dalit Freedom Games Night that they will be holding on Saturday Sept 18 here at Barro @ 7:00pm. This promises to be a great night of fun, with a silent auction, crazy games, Asha Bollywood Live and lots more. All proceeds from the night will go towards projects in the Dalit communities that the team visits. Tickets are $10 eachand can be booked at the Help Desk or through one of the Woon or one of the team. Why not bring some friends along and make up a table of 10? |
